New Year, new post! Happy New Year!

Well, I continue to be upbeat about Crewed Charter Yachting for 2009. Many yachts are offering specials and are being flexible. I’ve seen rate reductions of mega yachts and specials of all kinds. Contact your crewed yacht broker for more details. If you don’t have a broker, I highly recommend you use one that belongs to CYBA, Crewed Charter Yacht Brokers Association. www.cyba.net

This from the CYBA website:  “Always look for the CYBA logo, which identifies those brokers who are active members of the professional Charter Yacht Brokers Association. CYBA members must meet extensive requirements in order to qualify for membership in this prestigious organization. They must subscribe to CYBA’s strict code of Ethics, and they must inspect yachts and interview crews regularly in order to maintain their membership status.”

Be sure you use a reputable broker. I also highly, very highly, recommend insurance. Cancellation charges are high. Always read your charter contract. You want to be sure that your funds are deposited into an escrow or trust account. Unfortunately businesses do fold and this type of vacation needs to be protected.

Get out there and “Explore, Dream, Discover”!
